adding stations in the Eugene DMA, and the Bend DMA.
Northwest
Television offers a wide variety of programming to our viewers. We
also provide advertising and video production services at
reasonable prices for local businesses and
organizations.
Northwest Television is locally-owned and
committed to enhancing the quality of life in our
community.
Northwest Television is not responsible to any
large corporation or shareholders.
Decisions are made
locally with our community in mind.
Northwest Television is
building a regional network of community television stations,
resulting in significant opportunities for local community
involvement.
Our vision is to provide local news,
sports, entertainment, information and specialty programming
targeted toward filling the void of community involvement common
to most stations and networks.
We know communities outside
the major cities are ignored by other television stations.
To
us, it’s more than just providing entertainment programming.
It’s about community.
Northwest Television is proud
to support our communities through coverage of local events.
We
are committed to serving the communities we reach with local and

History
Ken
Lewetag and Michael Mattson had been experienced in various
aspects of broadcasting, and had long realized the need for a
local station to serve the Mid Willamette Valley.
In 2000,
they filed several applications for new stations in various
strategic locations.
KWVT TV first signed on as channel 52
in April of 2005. KWVT quickly demonstrated the ability to cover
live sporting events with a live broadcast of Cascade Surge
Soccer.
As part of our commitment to the community, KWVT
agreed to become the new Capital Area local primary station for
the Emergency Alert System.
2007 bought several changes as
Channel 17 went on the air much closer to Salem, and became KWVT
when channel 52 was sold.
May 2008 a more powerful signal
from channel 17 extended coverage to most of Marion, Polk and
Yamhill Counties.
November 2008 KSLM, a digital TV signal
was added. This Digital multicast included the programming of both
KWVT and KSLM.
April 2009 we secured an
affiliation agreement with Retro Television for KSLM TV, enabling
us to provide many well known programs for our viewers.
March
2010 we completed a change of our transmitter frequency and again
increased our power and coverage, now available to over 790,000
households from Lane County, OR to Clark County, WA.
September
2010 we added a transmitter at Peterson Butte near Lebanon,
providing a stronger signal in much of Linn and Benton Counties.
This digital signal includes all the programming available on the
KSLM digital multicast.
October 2010 we added KPWC, serving
the hispanic population as an affiliate of the Azteca America
network.
Many changes are planned for Northwest
Television to expand our coverage, as well as to increase our
viewers programming options.
